Our Story
Candice Branch
Owner of Excel Employment Services
Founder’s Journey & Purpose
Excel Employment Services began with more than a vision for connecting job seekers and employers—it began with family, care, and purpose. As the founder, I watched my Uncle Mark’s life shift when he lost his vision due to complications from diabetes. Witnessing both the emotional and practical challenges he faced—accessibility barriers, adapting to new limitations, the weight of being misunderstood—ignited in me a deeper calling: to build something that would uplift people with visual impairment, help employers be inclusive, and ensure that career potential is never limited by disability.
Because of Uncle Mark’s journey, I committed to making BVI (blind & visually impaired) services a core part of what we do—not an afterthought. Over time, Excel grew into a full-spectrum employment services agency, offering job placement, training, interview coaching, and ongoing support—with a special heart for individuals living with vision loss.
Our Book:
Love, Loss, and Legacy: Our Family’s Caregiving Story
In January 2025, I published Love, Loss, and Legacy: Our Family’s Caregiving Story, a short but powerful book (38 pages) that shares how we navigated the grief, the adjustments, and the resilience needed when a loved one’s world changes. Amazon+1
This book is deeply personal. It gives voice to caregivers—especially those who step into roles abruptly—and explores how love and legacy intertwine when life takes unexpected turns. It’s a tribute to Uncle Mark, a mirror for families in similar circumstances, and a reminder that compassion, dignity, and purpose can guide us even through the hardest seasons.
By sharing this story publicly, I hope to:
Raise awareness of the daily realities of visual impairment and caregiving
Inspire empathy in those who interact professionally with BVI individuals
Reinforce why Excel’s mission is not just business, but personal
